Bacchus Marsh Childcare and Kindergarten Centre – Where Learning Is Child’s Play!
Bacchus Marsh Childcare and Kindergarten Centre was established as a 42 place Centre, in October 1990, and was the first service to offer long day childcare and kindergarten in the Bacchus Marsh area. 2002 saw a change in management to Mary Murphy and her daughter, Michelle Forbes. In late 2003, renovations were undertaken to see the Centre increase to 50 places.
We at Bacchus Marsh Childcare and Kindergarten pride ourselves on being the smallest long day care service in Bacchus Marsh, where all staff can get to know all children and their families personally. Regular staff build warm and trusting relationships with all children in our care, and work in partnership with families to meet the individual needs of each family and child.
In accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and development Framework, we take a play based approach to learning. We focus on the key elements of belonging, being and becoming, and foster each child’s individual needs and interests in an appropriately warm and nurturing environment.
We provide long day care for children aged 0-5 years, including breakfast, morning tea, a two-course cooked lunch and afternoon tea. Registered pre-school for children aged 3-5 years is included in the normal daily or weekly fee. There is no additional charge for children who access the pre-school programs.
We also provide before and after school care, vacation care and curriculum day care for school aged children. The Centre Bus travels daily to all Primary Schools in the Bacchus Marsh/Comaidai area to deliver children to, and collect them from their various schools. Degree qualified Primary School teachers are on hand to assist with homework and are available for tutoring as required.
The formal Kindergarten Program is delivered daily between 8am and 1pm for all children aged 3-5, as part of our long day care program. This program receives funding from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and is delivered by a degree qualified primary and early education teacher. We liase closely with all of the primary schools in Bacchus Marsh to ensure a smooth transition for all of our graduating children.
